We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Metrology Lab Technician for our Toronto, Ontario location . Metrology Lab Technician performs equipment calibrations and product testing according to procedures, standards, the Company and customer specific requirements, and evaluation of calibration / test results and preparation of reports, participation in calibration / test planning and scheduling, general lab and equipment maintenance, assistance in R&D activities in the field of electrochemical and optical sensing technologies.

Responsibilities :

  • Timely execution of tests according to test plans / procedures for new and existing product validation
  • Calibration of electronic, flow control and other instruments
  • Operational maintenance of instruments and equipment, including environmental chambers, ovens, breath alcohol simulators, flow controllers, data acquisition modules
  • General laboratory maintenance
  • Coordination of effective work of interns and cooperative students
  • Analysis of data as it is collected, and application of conclusions to guide further tests
  • Recording and maintaining proper documentation of measurement data for internal and certification tests
  • Preparation of calibration and test reports
  • Preparation of laboratory procedures
  • Participation in other metrology lab activities as required

Winning Profile :
Mandatory Requirements & Skills

  • College Diploma or higher degree in engineering or physical sciences with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience in operating various testing instruments (environmental chambers, DAQ modules, oscilloscopes, flow controllers, Hi-pot testers, etc)
  • Ability to strictly follow testing protocols
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to shift focus among multiple priorities quickly
  • Hands-on trouble shooting skills and good problem solving skills
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)

Desired Requirements & Skills

  • Experience in ISO 17025 accredited laboratory is a definite asset
  • Working knowledge of general metrology principles is a definite asset
  • Familiarity with lab instrumentation maintenance procedures highly desired
  • Understanding of statistical data analysis
  • Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuit design
  • Experience with LabView software

Job Overview

The position will be working with the Canadian and US Foodservice teams as well as on our International business, overseeing projects from start to finish. Responsibilities also include:

Maintenance of company automobile records and collect data for taxable benefits. Analyse intercompany accounts into various expense and balance sheet categories as required for tax filing. Analyse and review bank fees. Some other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • College diploma with major in accounting, or equivalent with experience
  • 2-5 years’ experience in general business practice regarding accounts payable, general office experience, computer competency (Word; Excel)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • SAP experience would be an asset.
