Qualifications

Job Summary

Daily work and tasks involve the installation of telecommunications and networking infrastructure, namely cables and wires and their terminations. Security device installation, including cameras, alarm systems, sensors and door contacts. Mounting and installation of speakers and entertainment systems.

This is a three-month probationary position which guarantees a minimum of twenty-five hours of work per week with the opportunity to become a full time permanent employee.

Pay: $17.80 to $45.00 per hour. This figure depends on whether or not the employee is in-house or a subcontractor, plus their experience in the field. Two previous work references are required so that past experience can be established. A subcontractor owns their own work vehicle while an in-house employee drives a vehicle provided by the company.

Requirements: Secondary education, 3-5 years experience in the industry, knowledge and experience in installation of CAT5, CAT6, RG6 and RG59 cables and termination of such cables and knowledge and experience in the installation of security systems. Fibre optics cable installation is a strong asset. Must be a G-licensed driver for a minimum of four years. Ownership of a work truck, van or minivan is an asset but not mandatory as is owning work tools and equipment. Post secondary education is also an asset. The ability to communicate fluently in and understand instructions in English is also mandatory.
